separate hot and cold tap solution
Просмотров 48 тыс.12 лет назад
Temporary solution to mix hot and cold water taps. This mixer shower is available at DIY stores and the shower part can be removed and length adjusted according to need. Ideally you do not need the zip tie.
Rule nr 1. dont use turn signals if you drive a BMW, and the problem is gone :))
That silicone won`t hold for long and it will start fogging. You need to replace the whole lens, same procedure as with headlights.
Thank you! You helped me out :)
Nice
Thank u brother try it tomorow
HI! I have a problem with the led's in those two lines, used for the parking lights(or how are them named). There is a wire that is lose inside, on the circuit with that 2 led's. Do you know, if i will crack open the tail light, as you done, i will be able to reach on that small circuit bord with the led's? Or i need to find another way
Hi, I believe you should be able to reach but I haven't tried so not can't say for sure.
Thank you so much for the video. The tail light on my e60 has started doing the exact same thing as yours. I thought it was bad ground, then maybe bad socket connection. I fixed those to no avail. Thanks to your video, now I know what to do. Really hate that BMWs keep having issues with their lights, and it’s even worse now with LEDs.
Awesome video! Thank you so much! You're the man!!
덕분에 수리했움 thanks you
Very nice job! I have the same problem but on the right side
Thank you! I just successfully fixed my light thanks to your video!! ❤
Hello, all three LED´s all to the right is blacked out for me and won´t light up no matter how hard I press them. Do you think that there could be anything else wrong for me?
Hi, It is possible that something is wrong with the bottom led on the right breaking the circuit for above 2 as well. Sometimes the led can burn out. If you can get the board checked with a professional (electronics technician) maybe one of the leds need replacement.
Hello, My E90 LCI (2009) has an issue with the taillight, under the signal light, there are 2 light bars (one short and the other longer with a curve). the short bar does not light up, the other one is working. Is there any LED for that light bar? and can I fix it using your method? thank you
Hi, That is also led light but I don't have experience of fixing that. I think if you are able to open the cover similarly to the indicator leds and access the led for that then you should be able to fix that.
@@johnplayer012 Thank you
I searched up and down RUclips for a video like this, thanks man…. Replacing that light would have been like $140 each🥴
Did it work
Thanks, perfectly explained, step by step - fixed mine!
This is the whole point of DIY "do it yourself" video, not just another buy a new light and replace it. I think it would be easier and safer to dremel around the contour to avoid cracking it. And then glue it back together that way it would properly seal from humidity and water entering the light. Nevertheless, great vid keep it up. 👍
Thanks, yes good idea using dremel.
would it be the same procedure for a E91n LCI? cheers
Hi, The lights look same to me. The overall procedure should be same, there might be slight difference in removing the light from the car.
My tail position LEDs don't work, did you ever manage to work on them? Thanks!
@@PaulAntonescu sorry I haven't worked on them, but I assume the overall approach would be same if it's possible to get to the board.
Hi AT, good video! I have the same rear lights for bmw e90 2006 model and they seem to be having electrical issues. They sometimes come on and the right drivers' side one barely comes on. Sometimes in the morning they are both fine. Happens to fog rear lights as well. Sometimes only on one side both led and fog light comes on even if I haven't switched the fog lights on! And when the lights switch is completely switched on then the rear fogs remain on, and even though I haven't switched them on?! May you advice where I should first look?!
Hi, I have not experienced this issue with my car, but it looks like something to do with the wiring harness (going to the rear lights) or contact points damaged or getting short circuit occasionally causing lights to behave erratically. Also have a look for any error codes you have got but connecting OBD reader.
Thank you! You are the man!
Thank you, it helped me a lot!
Hi thanks very much. Great video! I had the same issue on a BMW E90 LCI from 2009. I got the CC-id 125 error. I fixed it the way you explained, it took me around 1,5 hours. Just for the re-solder part i was not sure how to do it so I used some glue around the led while pressing it.
Glad it helped, good idea to use glue
Hello, i rarely comment on youtube but this video was so amazing and saved me 100 Euros at least, the tutorial is so indept that even an amateur like me had no issues, however i wanna say few things in case someone runs into same issue like me Pay attention to the order of wires with colors in their sockets, mine go in a different order, thankfully i could tell something was wrong because my light started acting as a turning indicator instead lol, i didn't take note how mine was before i took them out so i put them back like in the video but it was backwards, thankfully it was an easy switch back because i didn't even have to dissasemble it again, could do it in the car Also for glueing the red cover back, heated glue gun worked wonders Thank you so much mate
Thanks mate, and thanks for the tips. I never though the wires could be in different order, I will try to add that to the video.
Very precise video with instructions and details. Saw this vid last week saved for today cuz was busy and i fixed it very fast using ur instructions. God bless u man u got my subscription hope u help us out on more problems on this car!
Glad it helped
@@johnplayer012 only q i have when i start the lights the light apears on board but everything works properly im confused
@@jovandievski9116 do you mean when you connect the battery the lights are working ok? do you know which ones do not work when fitted on the car? it could be that the connection is loose and working intermittently. if you know which ones have problem try pushing them one by one to the sides and see if they flicker.
@@johnplayer012 nope i mean i fixed it and every light is working properly but when i start the engine the light signal pops on the board when i turn the lights on
@@jovandievski9116 That is bit strange, I hope that warning is not due to some other bulb issue. There is a latest comment from someone having a different sequence of wires that what is in the video you can verify that as well.
my rear right turn signal is faulty, does not come on at all, would this be similar in repairing that?? or from my research, it seems you have to replace the whole assembly?? thanks for any reply!! great video!!
Yeah, it looks like you might need to replace the whole assembly, but it might also be worth having a look inside in case there is a circuit broken in the first array of LEDs before throwing away the old one. But if your brake lights also not working then might be another issue.
@@johnplayer012 thanks!! Brake lights are working. Will take apart and give it a shot!! Thanks for your help
Thank you! Fixed mine today watching your video! :).
Great!
Just fixed mine using your method, thank you so much.
You're welcome!
Muchas gracias amigo!!
Con gusto
Hey man, only the blinker is led?
Hi, I believe the brake lights are also led.
Thanx for such a great video. It worked like a charm for me
Great to hear!
Hi, what kind of LEDs are there, my LEDs are burned in 3 rows?
Hi, I haven't changed any myself but have noticed someone mentioning PLCC4 Led in amber colour on a forum. Sometimes only the first one is burned and other start working after replacing that. Got this link from a forum on e90post.com lighthouseleds.com/plcc-4-1210-smd-led-orange-amber-ultra-bright-1300.html
Great video. Will try this
On my E90 LCI, the short lightstrip inside the tail light curved downwards towards the longer lightstrip. Can it be straightened? Thanks for the video, you did great.
Hi, Thanks. I did not quite get what do you mean by curved downwards? has it deformed from original shape due to some reason? If so I would try to use a heat gun and try to get it back to shape when the plastic becomes softer.
@@johnplayer012 Yes, exactly. It is deformed now, it's like a curved light strip now, not a straight one anymore. Thanks for the advice. I will try tomorrow to mend it.
@@legioner9 Did you get it deformed upwards again? I have the turning light same issue as the video, and also the plastic light guide deformed downwards. In fact, both clusters have the same issue. I thought I could repair it with the heat gun. Also I wanted to try to disassemble the red cover by heating it instead of cracking it.
@@carlosbermudez6069 Hello. I did not fix the problem. I left the taillight as it is, with the strip bent downwards. Maybe I will buy a second-hand unit someday.
@@legioner9 I opened mine today (to repair LED, done) and tried to bend the light guide. With the heat gun it starts cracking, the heating must be done evenly in an oven, as the transparent block can be disassembled. I don't think it would be easy to heat it, as too cold cannot be bent, to warm will lose the shape forever. Together with the cracks that remain forever after removing the cover, maybe a second-hand cluster would be the best solution. It has been designed to avoid repairs.
Thank you very much! Brilliant, and it worked for me. You were right about having to open it up again - a second board failed after the first was repaired.
Glad it helped
Super helpful. First one and perfect timing since mine got loose thanks a lot
Great 👍
Very simple, use one hole for a modern mixer faucet and the other for a soap dispenser..
i was looking for something to fix this stupid cold and hot water taps and i found the retromixer ... unfortunatelly my taps are too large to fit in that so i kept looking and i found this cheap item, looking very much like this one in this video ... i hope it helps other people : www.wilko.com/shower-accessories/wilko-functional-bath-shower-spray/invt/0182571?nst=0&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8YLanKut1wIV7bXtCh22sAkPEAQYAyABEgI3MPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
it's not available in diy shops anymore :( What a disaster!

It is very stupid - separate warm and cold water. In Poland we had never solution like that. We are modern. We have better solutions.

What an ironic comment. I guess you meant "English" and not "english", "civilised" and not "cyvilised" in your comment.
CookieMonster whatever you got the hint didn't you? Must be rural pub loving fish and chips proud British! Haha
Can this be bought online?
